De Boer, who specialises in corporate, M&A, restructuring and insolvency, will join Linklaters’ Amsterdam office on 1 May as the fifth partner in its local corporate practice. De Boer resigned from De Brauw today (8 March), where he has headed the firm’s Amsterdam restructuring practice for the past three years. He joined De Brauw in 1991 and became a partner in 1998.
Loyens & Loeff makes up five to partnership across Benelux region

The argument goes that the US’ generally stricter conflicts rules are a real hurdle for litigators operating in Europe, particularly when the bulk of the practice is weighted stateside, which makes it inevitable that American clients will get the upper hand in a close call on conflicts.

The new office, which will open for business on 1 September, will be led by Loyens & Loeff’s former Luxembourg head Dirk Leermakers, who has joined Stibbe from local firm Bonn Schmitt Steichen together with a team of three lawyers. The Luxembourg launch marks the sixth office for Stibbe, alongside its two principal bases in Amsterdam and Brussels and offices in London, New York and Dubai. Stibbe has been part of an alliance with UK top 10 firm Herbert Smith and Germany’s Gleiss Lutz since 2002.

CC shuts down European data centres in Paris and Amsterdam
From legalweek.com Clifford Chance (CC) is closing two European data centres as the firm consolidates its data storage across the continent from a total of four locations to just two. The magic circle firm is in the process of closing its Paris and Amsterdam data centres, and will now instead use just two existing European bases in London and Germany. The consolidation will not result in any job cuts, as both the Paris and Amsterdam centres are outsourced to data specialists Redbus and KPN respectively, but the move marks the end of the outsourcing contracts for both bases.
